STAFF
While each location is managed by its' provider, there are many teachers who make up the Wooden Fish Family! We are always growing, so don't be surprised if you see a few new faces around!
Sarah Homskie- Andrews
Owner & Provider WFP
Sarah grew up in Norristown, Pennsylvania just outside of Philadelphia (Home of the Super Bowl LII Champions!) and moved to Portland to complete her college degree. Sarah holds a Bachelors Degree in Child & Family Studies from Portland State University. Following five years as a teacher in a certified family child care home, Sarah sought out to open her own Preschool with the support of her Husband Bendrea!
Working with children has always been a passion of Sarah's. She believes in collaborating with parents and families to ensure that each child's first experience at school is a valuable one. She believes it's our responsibility to nurture each child's innate curiosity and provide exciting and dynamic experiences to encourage the growth of life-long learners!
Brandy Lee
Provider WFP 4
Brandy is an Oregon Native who comes to the Wooden Fish Family after being a nanny and caregiver for the past few years.

Creating a love for learning through curiosity and interest is something Brandy is passionate about. She believes the foundation to a child's future in education starts by cultivating their natural curiosity. She feels a child who wants to learn is more likely to seek knowledge out in their future.

When she is not acting silly with the kids, she is often reading and utilizing her love of learning. She enjoys museums, road trips, playing with her dogs, and being out in nature!
Ben Andrews
Owner & Provider WFP3
Bendrea was born and raised in Portland OR. He obtained his Bachelors Degree from Full Sail University in Music Business Science. He has always been a teacher at heart working with youth at a young age leading into his first job at Helensview High School as a Music Instructor.
Children are his passion along side of his wife Sarah, and they make an amazing team helping contribute to life time learners!

He named the school after his favorite proverb: give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll eat for his entire life. He hopes that the lessons the children learn at WFP help them for their whole lives.
Kala Kiahd
Provider WFP2
Kala was born in Portland, OR and raised in Milwaukie, Oregon. She was the youngest of four children until her family adopted five younger children.
She studied Early Childhood Education all four years of high school. Following her graduation, she began watching children 2 months to 6 years of age out of her home. After five years, she decided to work for a Certified Family Home. Two years later, she accepted the offer to be the Provider at Wooden Fish Preschool 2!
She has also worked at her church in the nursery for the last ten years. Caring for children has always been a huge part of her life and has always brought her so much joy.
Simone Woods
Abigail Jones
Substitute Provider WFP
Her passion for childcare rooted from helping her mom out with their In-Home Daycare when she was younger. She’s been a nanny for several years and has a lot of experience from different kinds of backgrounds.
Two of Abby’s favorite things about working with children are watching them learn and grow. Every child is different and she loves how she can connect with them all differently, as well.
